Corrections Management


Advance and Promote. A degree in Corrections Management will bring you to new heights in your career by preparing you for supervisory, management, and executive positions within the criminal justice system and, specifically, the corrections and prison management field. The program’s curriculum will provide you with a strong foundation and knowledge of sound management practices needed for the highly controlled environment of a prison or other correctional facility.

Designed by experts working in the prison and corrections field, you will be able to articulate and apply criminological theories, management techniques that positively impact inmate subcultures, ethics in a highly-controlled environment, supervision and administration of prisons, and business management in corrections from a real world experience. Flexibility in scheduling will allow you to pursue your studies with minimum interruption to your career and family commitments.

  • 32 semester units for apprenticeship certificate + one year internship= C-POST*
  • Up to 30 additional semester units for training beyond the academy training through UI&U’s certified learning method
  • The option to earn college credits through CLEP, DANTES, Challenge Exams, prior learning assessment, and credits recommended by ACE through military training
  • Faculty-guided instruction by criminal justice, corrections, management, and other academic experts

Accelerate completion of your degree by

  • Attending on-ground classes that meet face-to-face five (5) times in an eight (8)-week session, or, selecting distance learning options.
  • Earning eight (8) credits in eight (8) weeks
  • Transferring credits from other regionally accredited colleges and universities
  • Requesting credit for knowledge gained outside the classroom through work or professional experience
  • Successfully completing CLEP or DANTES tests
  • Applying college credits for training through certified learning
