Corene Davis, director of affirmative action and EEO programs, served on the planning committee for the State of the State 9th Annual Conference at Sinclair Community College, Dayton Ohio, March 18, 2004. Davis moderated the panel discussion “Best Practices in Enforcement and Compliance." John “Turk” Logan, Ph.D. 1997, was a panel member on the topic, “The Media and Diversity” at the conference.
J. Stephen Dobbins, director of media and community relations, was recently elected to the board of trustees of Cincinnati Union Bethel (CUB), the oldest social service agency west of the Allegheny Mountains, and appointed by Mayor Charlie Luken as a trustee to the Schmidlapp Education Fund. He was included in the inaugural edition of Who's Who in Black Cincinnati, 2003, which features the achievements of African-American men and women who have made their mark in the Cincinnati community.
Alice Eichholz, Ph.D., director of Lifelong Learning, contributed "Managing Emotional Cutoff through Family History Research," to the publication Emotional Cutoff: Bowen Family Systems Theory Perspectives (Haworth Press, October 2003). Eichholz and James M. Rose, Ph.D. 1980, were guests on DearMYRTLE's Family History Hour Internet radio show, February 10, 2004, in response to the interest in their book, Black Genesis: A Resource Book for African-American Genealogy, and in observance of Black History Month. DearMYRTLE's Family History Hour, broadcasts interviews with prominent genealogy authors, software producers, and instructors. |
