State Licensing: Authorization to Offer Degree Programs

Union Institute & University is authorized by the following state education agencies to offer degree programs:

California Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education

Currently authorized to offer B.A, B.S., and Ph.D. programs and to operate two centers: Los Angeles and Sacramento. Institutional Approval #19089 expires December 31, 2008

Florida Commission for Independent Education

Currently authorized to offer B.A., B.S., M.Ed., Ed.S., and Ph.D. programs and to operate one center: North Miami Beach. Annual renewal process.

Maryland Higher Education Commission

Authorization to operate in Maryland as an out-of-state postsecondary educational instruction. Authorization is on an occasional basis to offer seminars and educational meetings that are part of the national master of arts and doctor of philosophy degree programs in interdisciplinary studies. Authorization renewed annually.

Ohio Board of Regents

Currently authorized to offer B.A., B.S., Ph.D., Psy.D., and Ed.D. programs. Provisional approval requested in 2002 to accommodate reorganizational process and new program development.

Oregon Student Assistance Commission

Limited authorization of B.A., B.S., M.A., and Ph.D. programs allows for occasional in-state seminars, colloquia, and workshops. Authorization renewed annually.

Vermont State Board of Education

Authorization awarded September 2001 for all Union Institute & University programs and for operation of two campuses: Montpelier and Brattleboro. Next scheduled institutional reauthorization review: 2007.

Consortium of Southern California Colleges and Universities. Union Institute & University is a founding member of the Council of Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL). Union Institute & University holds institutional membership in Service members Opportunity Colleges (SOC).
