Business Development Director

Summary

 

The immediate purpose of this role is to develop new accounts for the company, by leveraging the brand assets of Sharpstream Life Sciences’ European, US and Asian operations and working with a successful team capable of generating a strong revenue stream and portfolio of clients. 

 

Key early stage activities will center on expanding the US client base for Sharpstream Life Sciences.  You will have direct responsibility for new business development and account management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

  • To help review and develop the US company’s strategy for new business development in conjunction with Sharpstream’s North American Vice President and Managing Director.

 

  • To produce presentations and marketing documentation on the company’s services for presentation during client meetings.

 

  • To lead pitch presentations to new clients in order to secure business for the US company.

 

  • To negotiate terms of business for single and multiple assignments and Partnership agreements in line with the company’s established terms of business for US clients.

 

  • To participate in US business development team meetings that review company sales performance and set goals and targets for company on a quarterly basis with support from the North American Vice President/Managing Director.

 

  • To work closely with the Team Leader/ US Operations Director to ensure coordination in the successful delivery of newly won projects.

 

  • To keep abreast of the operational delivery of assignments and provide insight and feedback to the Team Leader/ Operations Director in the US office in order that problems can be dealt with and support provided where necessary to Consultants and Researchers.

 

  • To set standards of performance for the business development team by demonstrating best practice which will form the basis of performance standards as the team develops and grows.

 

 

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

 

 

Experience and Knowledge

 

 

  • Business Development within a technical and high-end focused industry.
  • 5+ years professional experience with 3 years in the recruitment industry
  • Deep knowledge of recruitment methodologies and their position in the market
  • Consistently meeting and exceeding sales targets/quotas
  • Track record of bringing in a high value contracts/revenue
  • Winning business and managing key accounts successfully
  • Business development and solution delivery experience
  • Understanding of and experience in the Life Sciences vertical

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Ideally a science based or business related degree.
